1 in 6 Mail Online Commenters Think Dictator Looks Cute

Pictures of a young Kim Jong Un provoked cries of 'Aww'

1 in 6 people commenting on a Mail Online article think North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was 'cute,' analysis has found.

The compliments, which were found among mildly-racist jibes and comments comparing the North Korean government to the British monarchy, said that pictures of the dictator as a young man were 'so cute,' adding that he was 'Just a good ole boy.....never meaning no harm.....'

The pictures showed Kim Jong Un as a young boy wearing an Air Force uniform. They have circulated rapidly after being shown in a North Korean television broadcast a few days ago. They have never been seen by the public before, but were broadcast during a special concert held when Kim Jong Un met with members of the Air Force.

But whilst many Mail Online readers seem positively converted, others met the images with cynicism, writing that 'he has not changed much' and 'Its difficult to tell where the baby pics stop and the adult pics begin.'

There were also a number of comments comparing the dictatorial system in North Korea to the British monarchy:
'This is what happens,' writes one, enraged by the pictures, 'when you have a system where the Head of State comes from an unelected dynastic family. Good job we don't have such a system in the UK. Oh hang on'

Another simply could not tell the difference: 'If you dig around the Royal Family archives you'll find pictures just like this. They live in splendour while their "subjects" are forced into using food banks. What's the difference?'
