'Who are we to close doors?' - Pope Francis says he would accept Martians into the Church

The statement has been hailed as a victory by
various Extra Terrestrial Rights groups

The 266th head of the Catholic Church Pope Francis is at it again with his edgy and path-finding ways. He has found himself in a more popular light than previous Popes after openly stating his acceptance of gays, even saying that he would consider same-sex unions in the Catholic Church.

But heads have been turned once again today for slightly different reasons, after stating that he would allow Martians to be baptised in the church. If, for example, tomorrow an expedition of Martians came to us here and one said ‘I want to be baptised!’, what would happen?” he asked crowds at a homily given yesterday. When asked to clarify, he did so transparently: “Martians, right? Green, with long noses and big ears, like in children’s drawings.”
Formally known as Brother Guy, he
prefers the name 'Bro Guy'

The statement has raised eyebrows inside and out of the church, but the Pope claims that this is part of his policy of openness, saying "Who are we to close doors?"

The news has yet to receive much criticism, but questions are to be expected by certain groups, such as the American Earth Protectorate. Lord Commander Thor Templar claims that Martians are extremely dangerous, and has claimed to have killed 'at least 20.'

It has however, received some support from within the church. Brother Guy J. Consolmagno, an astronomer and planetary scientist within the church, has given his approval: “Any entity – no matter how many tentacles it has – has a soul.”
